NEXT SALES  June 28, July 12, 26

We appreciate all our customers and if your local market has recently closed we welcome you to our sale.  Or if you are not happy where you are, we welcome you to come give us a try.  We thank you for spreading the word about our sale.  We seem to pick up new people every sale.  Thank you.

Sat was a crazy busy day.  Had a few light rain showers in morning - supposed to be couple hrs, then back at 2 but it rained lightly all morning and cleared off for the afternoon Had over 100 baby chick plus other poultry and 1 rabbit.  A little misc stuff, some hatching eggs, and a few plants.  517 items.  Pretty good crowd. The livestock consisted of mostly  fat stock and it sold very well. Thin animals didn’t bring much of a price.  Steady run most all day and ended with 208 head.  Surprised that people could get stock out with all the wet weather.  Had a nice crowd for the livestock sale- active buyers.

Market Transaction averages below.  This is an average/ by species/ by sex/ no head/ ave weight/ average price per CWT/ ave price by head/ if they went up or down from last sale and by how much in cents per pound/best price by pound at weight.- this page. NC  means no change and NT means- no test- nothing to compare to last sale. NGT means not good test as we may have only had 1 to compare to or weights way different.  STD means  steady-no change from last sale. BB means bottle babies- under 20#.  Gives price averages but you cannot tell quality of animal just by prices.  In pairs means sold with doe  or ewe- could be 1 or 2 kids.

Market summery by species/by sex/weight range/ hi - low- average, no of head -on next 2 pages.

Market Report on 3 pages- transaction averages this page, goats or sheep summary by weights next 2 pages.

If it’s a good breed, pretty color, slick, fat it will bring top price.  People are looking for QUALITY breeding stock or good meat products.  Excellent quality is bringing top prices. Skinny, old, scruffy, or sickly the prices drop off petty fast.  Still depends on demand as to where prices go. Most of our stock comes straight off the farm.  We do not have someone bring us a big load of trader goats to bring up our no’s.  Often the lighter weights bring more than the heavy weights.  And Quality makes a big difference. We had 208 head, a mixture of goats, hair sheep, wool sheep and cross bred wool/hair sheep.  Several items went up and some went down.  Quality probably the difference. You can check best price to ave price and tell a lot about how hey sold. And the market for pygmies is like a yoyo.  Up one sale and down the next sale.
